マイクロソフト、ITIL ベースの「System Center」ブランド製品のロードマップを発表

マイクロソフトは2007年2月27日、 企業向け IT システム運用管理製品群「System Center」本格出荷に向け、 各製品のロードマップと位置付けを発表した。

System Center は IT システム運用管理製品の新ブランドとして2006年6月に発表、 すでに「System Center Data Protection Manager 2006」 「System Center Reporting Manager 2006」 「System Center Capacity Planner 2006」の3製品が発売されている。

今春からは、System Center の主要製品である「System Center Operations Manager 2007」「System Center Essentials 2007」「System Center Configuration Manager 2007」「System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2007」の販売を順次開始し、 2008年には、 System Center の中核をなす「System Center Service Desk」を販売開始する予定。

これにより、同社が提唱している ITIL ベースの IT システム運用管理フレームワーク「Microsoft Operations Framework」（MOF）を全面的にカバーする運用管理製品が揃うことになる。
